Time away...............

By enlarging this photo you'll see 3 beautiful birds. It's black against black. so look hard.

Black OystercatcherBlack Oystercatcher (Haematopus bachmani) - Black Oystercatchers are a species of shorebird that inhabits the rocky intertidal areas along the Pacific coast from the Aleutian Islands to Baja Mexico. They are territorial, solitary nesters. They feed among the rocky intertidal areas where they live and build their nests above the high water mark in a natural shallow rock depression.

A couple of weeks ago I decided to take a special "me only" trip to our vacation home in Yachats, Oregon, and it became such a healing and delicious time; in beautiful weather and perfect stillness both inside and out।
I celebrated some of my time with great friends, watched the busy waves, (every 7th was a show to feast on), drove the spell binding coast line down to Florence and reserved some much needed time for reflection and reading. It felt like the most expensive vacation with nothing but me and the elements.
I yearned to sit on the cliffs and watch the waves roll in, so I did!!! I took my time, even took some self portraits (not worth showing here) and soaked up the sunshine and warmth wherever and whenever I could.
