Time Out...for awhile..

I need to take a break from blogland and from the busyness around me. I have created it all myself, I know, so with so much happening, like my other blogfriend, I need to find time to enjoy and create a space for myself. Much got done, some things not, I will tackle those at a later time.

Sis is coming, wedding is happening on August 21., an open house reception on Aug. 10th for the soon to be wedding couple is also happening, a trip to our vacation home with just my sis and me is also on the program, and on August 27th I can take a deep breath as hubby and I are heading to Vancouver Island in BC to take our yearly vacation at our favorite lodge, Yellowpoint Lodge...http://yellowpointlodge.com/

All exciting and good............

The Joy of children and hard labor of the earth...

Grandchildren and daughter
Grandma brought fun things to play with
She loves grandma's lipstick...

Hi friends,

I am back after a couple of weeks away. My life has not been without happenings and certainly not dull, but my computer has been on the blink, and perhaps that was a good thing.

I am including a few pictures of my little ones taken during a couple of outings, one in a restaurant in Salem, Oregon.

I have been busy digging in my garden; a ditch for a flag pole light so that I don't have to take the flag down every night, and the remaking of a brick foot path which was, over time, going in all direction...I also painted several black frames and chose a white primer and white spray paint. They turned out beautiful and look so nice in our yellow hallway...

And this coming Thursday is the big day; my sis is arriving from Norway...I can't wait. She is bringing me a Norwegian flag for my flag pole!!! So with the light showing off the US and Norwegian flags I am good to go..

Sending you all my love and blessings.

A moment in the country...

Hubby and I were resting by our pond this afternoon watching the beautiful Koi fish , when all of a sudden I remembered the open house taking place at Rare Plant Research, 5 minutes from our home. I got in my Mini Cooper, moon roof open, and excited about visiting a place only open a couple of times a year. I was not disappointed. The weather was a perfect 79 degrees and entering this magical place was a dream. A solid rock home rested on top of a knoll overlooking the most pristine farm country, an Italian monastery inspiration, with a couple of large size ponds and rare plants setting the scenery.

I found "friends" right away
Oregon wildflowers decked the beautiful small tables on the terraces and there was music in the air. A sculptor was showing off his amazing art, wine was served as well as a delightful meal. So there I was, all by myself, soaking it all up and asking someone if I may sit at their table. Two couples so interesting that I ended up having the greatest conversation with them for 1 1/2 hour.

It was AWESOME...This is what I love about life; one never knows what's up ahead and sometimes it's really GOOD.

Thank you

I want to take this time to thank my dear blog friends for your love and interest in my life and blog. I don't have a lot of blog friends, but the ones I have chosen are supreme!! And that's YOU!! May your days be a blessing of no limit and may we continue to check in, and bring each other love and encouragements.
With a grateful heart, Ragna

July 4th at the Sea.....

View from our deck facing south

What a splendid time hubby and I had at our vacation spot in Yachats, OR..
After rain and cold weather the day before, we arrived in Yachats to the bluest sky and a lovely temperature.
This is a place of peace and beauty and a community that offers the best of people and sights.
The Pacific ocean sparkles with the most incredible jewels, and the sky, in its brilliance, covers the landscape with its blue beauty.
And there we are, hubby and Sunshine, two mere human beings, reaping the benefits of a creation unlike any other.

Yachats comes to life on July 4th!! A Parade, a city of ca. 600 people swelling with several thousand, music in the streets, food courts everywhere, happy people, businesses booming (Yachats makes money in the summer, not in the winter), children and DOGS everywhere; it's a doggie dog world and it's a city reveling in inviting the outsider in...
